Hair Color Fail!!

As I type, i'm uploading a video on youtube! and I talk a bit about my hair color fail! Well let me begin saying that I have been doing my own hair for a few years (way before I started beauty school) and for the past 3 years I have been bleaching my own hair, I don't bleach it often and thats why I still have hair but that might also be because I don't bleach my roots. Well on the picture you can see purple hair but this is not what I initially wanted, actually, it wasn't what I wanted at all but my hair took a wrong turn and it was either purple or going dark, and I'm not ready to have dark hair. So now I have this weird brown/orangy hair with purple ends. Basically what happened is that I bleached my hair and I was just trying to take my blond a bit higher since it has grown and I have done this a few times already with no problem, nothing that a toner can't fix, well today not even a toner could help and my hair wouldn't get passed the orange stage. Well I don't have all the products I'd like at home for this type of problem so once the toners I had didn't change my hair much, I decided to just put on this purple and let my hair rest for a couple of weeks before I try anything else. I need to do some deep conditioning before trying to do anything else, in 2 weeks (if I can wait that long) Im going to try to do a bleach bath and see how much of that orange thats hiding there I can get rid off and maybe either put on the purple again or just go and tone it with a nice blond. Its a lot of work and I took on more than I could handle based on the last time I did this, which was about 6 months ago. Well I learned my lesson and I gotta take it easy and just be more prepared for next time, So I just wanted to talk a bit more about my hair color fail and hopefully I can update soon with some better hair news lol.
have a good night.

  1. Coloring your own hair is a difficult thing to do, since you have to adeptly lather the color to your hair, and make sure the color is equally distributed in all parts to achieve a good shade. Well, at least you tried, and you now know what to do and what to avoid the next time you do it on your own. On the other hand, the outcome doesn't look that bad. I hope that you already achieved your hair color goal, Karen. :)
